Hosted by OS Lab, the inaugural Africa’s Regulatory Horizon & Digital Marketplace Risk Summit & Bootcamp will take place from 15 to 17 April 2026. This landmark event is designed to address the critical “pacing gap” where digital innovation currently outstrips regulatory oversight. By bringing together regulators, industry leaders, and safety experts, the summit aims to establish Africa’s voice in global conversations regarding digital trust, online safety, and the governance of emerging technologies like AI and the Metaverse.

The three-day program begins with a Welcome Reception on the evening of April 15th, followed by the main Summit on April 16th, which explores themes such as smarter oversight frameworks, data safety, and fraud prevention. The day concludes with a Fireside Chat and networking evening. The event culminates on the morning of April 17th with a specialized Digital Marketplace Risk Assessment Bootcamp, a masterclass providing participants with practical tools and methodologies to identify risks and build resilient, safe platforms.

Ultimately, this initiative seeks to empower the continent to craft solutions rooted in African innovation and culture rather than simply adopting external norms. It addresses escalating online risks—ranging from financial scams to misinformation—to ensure that Africa’s digital marketplace remains a safe, reliable, and trusted ecosystem for the future.
